I’d have to say I was disappointed when I first saw the first episodes of Unlimited. It was named Final Fantasy, but very dinky linked it to the fabulous video game series of the same name. The epic seemed immature and generic and not interwoven with many character driven side stories; only the Final Fantasy mascots appeared (Chocobo, for one) ; and the music didn’t assume the classical style that went with the games. So, needless to say, I didn’t bother buying anymore of the DVDs in the series.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Final Fantasy – Unlimited! Click HereThen the box location came out, and I admitted to myself that I was at least intriguing about how this series would demolish, plus I had learned that Gonzo made Unlimited, and Gonzo has yet to fail me in any of my anime endeavors. I bought it, and I watched the first episodes again. I cringed, because suddenly I felt the same intention and even found a few more things I disliked about it. But I didn’t terminate, and continued to gaze, and found that, slowly, this series evolved. It became emotionally driven, with a lot of elements that made Final Fantasy grand. There were mascots galore (the stated chocobo, cactuar, moogles, summons, and Cid) . Some of the music heard can be heard in previous games (the opening song–not the title song–and the battle victory) .

Still, it wasn’t as Final Fantasy as its namesake, but I found that in watching the anime the entire procedure through that that was okay. Though it isn’t a sterling chapter in Final Fantasy, it’s a vast stand-alone anime nonetheless. It has astronomical animation, a curious style that seems both classical and cutting edge (Astroboy with CG) . The narrative deepens as the two main characters search for their parents, and other account lines screech themselves as well, such as Kaze’s tale, the main character in charge of a mighty gun genuine of summoning creatures into battle, and Lisa, a martial artist with the power to control elements. The antagonists also turn into something more than they had been in the beginning. A deeper, more detestable foe appears later, one that adds a sense of apprehension to the chronicle that wasn’t there previously. All in all, it adds up to one decent anime. And the value itself can’t be beaten. Twenty-five episodes of anime for less than fifty-bucks.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Final Fantasy – Unlimited! Click HereIt’s difficult, however, to recommend this anime. I’d only recommend this to Final Fantasy fans who don’t select the game too serious. If you do, you’ll be disappointed with this anime. I’d also recommend it for anyone who enjoys experimentation in their animation. If you enjoyed Kid’s Anecdote in the Animatrix, you’ll appreciate this.

When I first heard that there was a Final Fantasy series that was to be introduced as a DVD series in the US I was quite inflamed. Certainly, as a game series, Final Fantasy has consistenly hit high marks in both record and graphics. It seemed reasonalble to inquire that the series, coming out at the same time as other series that have shown landmark levels of quality would be something to view. Alas, that is not the case.Buy,Download, Or Stream Final Fantasy – Unlimited! Click HereA grand tower of light suddenly plunges into the recent world, and astronomical monsters appear in yarn battles. The world changes subtly as a darker presence begins to engage possession of the shadows. A pair of research scientists open an investigation, but depart true after they publish a book about a curious underground world that seems to have appeared good under our feet. Now it falls to Yu and Ai Hayakawa to try and rep their parents. The board an curious subway state, and are transported to…Wonderland. In this DVD we assume our first tour of wonderland, as the young children watch the mysteries and threats that surround then and catch recent companions like Lisa, who has her believe special variety of ‘martial arts,’ and Kaze who uses a magical gun to carry out his role as a summoner (remember FF8 and FFX) . At display the memoir stays focussed at this level, a bit more fight and adventure oriented, although I query that the serious legend arcs will gradually become more necessary. While the work is acceptible as standard Saturday morning cartoon fareit really lakes the flair that marks most Final Fanasty work. In fact, other than some creatures like Chocobos, it really has very dinky in favorite with the Final Fantasy game series. Scripting and character development are minimal, aimed at an audience that isn’t quite ready for the complex relationship building which marks the show’s namesakes. And the artwork is though-provoking in spots, but more cartoon-like, reminiscent of than the originals.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Final Fantasy – Unlimited! Click Here

A snappily witness at the credits shows that there is very microscopic atrocious over between the game creators and the series staff. This explains many of the cramped gaps that originate the expose confusing for a long time fan. If one approaches this as an independent work rather than as an heir to one of gaming’s greatest lineages, then it is an acceptable and though-provoking series. Win if you are looking for the world of Gaia, peopled with Yuna’s, Strife’s, and Vivi’s you are going to be disappointed, as I was.

The first disc features 11 deleted and extended scenes. There’s more of the opening ambush with Tony Stark being more proactive. We also see more footage of Rhodes and it quickly becomes apparent that he was the character with the most scenes cut from the film. We also see Tony and Pepper Potts attend another party.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Iron Man! Click Here

The second disc starts off with the impressive “I Am Iron Man,” a 108 minute making of documentary that can be viewed in seven segments or altogether, taking us through various aspects of the production. For example, we are taken step-by-step through the construction of the Iron Man armor with Robert Downey Jr. cracking jokes while being fitted for it. It’s amazing how much of the suit is practical and looks really good in person. This is due in large part to the genius of the late-great Stan Winston and his company. Also included is plenty of soundstage footage of scenes being filmed.

“The Invincible Iron Man” is a six-part documentary on the comic book, tracing the history of the character. Stan Lee says that he modeled Stark after Howard Hughes, for the most part. He also mentions that he was never fully satisfied with the look of the armor – hence its many changes over the years. This doc also covers various key characters and storylines in excellent detail with several people who worked on the title over the years talking about their contribution to the mythos. This is a very well done overview of the comic book.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Iron Man! Click Here

“Wired: The Visual Effects of Iron Man” examines the CGI work that went into realizing Iron Man’s powers, like flying, his repulsors, and so on. Director Jon Favreau says that he likes to use practical effects whenever possible, which is wonderfully refreshing to hear, and in this film he mixed the practical with CGI.

“Robert Downey Jr. Screen Test.” Incredibly, the actor had to do a screen test because the studio deemed him a risky proposition and this footage shows that he had a handle on the character very early on.

“The Actor’s Process” features fascinating footage of Jeff Bridges and Downey rehearsing a scene with Favreau. It’s great to see these guys at work and offers insight into how they put together a scene from the film from an acting point-of-view.

“The Onion’s Wildly Popular Iron Man Trailer to be Adapted into Full-Length Film” is a funny satire where a newscaster “breaks” a story of how the Iron Man trailer will be made into a film that pokes fun at the rabid nature of the hardcore fanbase of the character.

Finally, there are “Galleries,” featuring concept art, technology stills, behind-the-scenes photographs, and poster art.

There was a big question mark looming over the theatrical adaptation of Marvel’s Iron Man property. It was in the guise of director Jon Favreau. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love the Favs, but when I heard he was helming a big budget comic book flick…let’s just say I was a little worried. Once his cast was set and the fanboys started humming across the internet I started to ease into the decision with high anticipation. Thankfully, after finally seeing the finished product, I was not disappointed in the least. With a great mix of the professionalism and stakes seen in both Spider-Man and X-Men and the comic wit and sheer fun of Fantastic Four, Iron Man shows how a comic can be brought to the screen successfully without all the added drama and weight. We finally have a film with the essence of what makes these picture books so popular, the action and mythology along with a sense of adventure and humor. Favreau never bogs us down with overwrought emotions nor speaks down to us with gags and poorly written jokes. Instead he delivers on his promises and gives us a solid initiation into what could be a great trilogy or more.

Favreau seems to have had an idea to get an origin story out while not boring us with long drawn out back story. His ability to give us dual information at once is nicely orchestrated, showing Tony Stark in his basement creating while the TV in the background explains what is happening in the outside world of the Middle East and inside his own company. We as an audience are allowed to put the pieces together amidst the witty banter of Stark and the wonderful special effects. By the end of the film it is quite amazing how much information you will realize you now know, all culminating in a decent final battle, but more importantly a segue into the inevitable sequel. We are allowed entrance into the character evolution of Stark as he goes from war profiteer to man of action and cause, all while seeing the technology improve and advance before our eyes. Much like Batman, we have a hero here that needs help in fighting crime. He has no superhuman abilities besides his brain and being able to see his thoughts go from paper to reality is a feat of magic. Every stage is shown, every failure and success. It’s quite the ride in and of itself, but when you add onto it the threat of global war and destruction, it can only get better.

The real success here is in the bold move of casting an actor over-40 to be a superhero. This takes guts, because no matter how appropriate it is, most studios would have said, “no, change the story and make him younger so we can churn out as many of these babies as we can.” I don’t know how he did it, but Favreau got Marvel to get Robert Downey Jr. to play Stark, a sarcastic Lothario with the brain capacity of Einstein. I truly can’t think of anyone better suited to the role and he proves it by nailing every single scene. I’m sure there was some ad-libbing, but even if not, his comic delivery and ability to switch on a dime to a sincere seriousness at will shows his masterful craft.

As for the rest of the cast, they all do well. Jeff Bridges plays the bombastic creature of villainy over-the-top, but appropriately so; Terrence Howard is nice as the friend and military liaison, not given much to do, but definitely sowing seeds for the future; and Gwyneth Paltrow is good as the sweet assistant Pepper Potts who at times seems a little underwritten and more female prop than anything else, but comes through with some nice moments in a very comic sort of way. I also really liked Shaun Toub as Yinsen, Stark’s savior, and Clark Gregg as the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. Good to see Favreau giving another actor turned director props, (Gregg’s directorial debut comes out later this year in the form of Chuck Palahniuk’s Choke). I just wish he would have shied away from putting himself in the film. It’s one thing to be seen split-second, (like Stan Lee), but its another to give yourself a thankless role with multiple scenes, just adding fuel to the fire on people’s opinions of egotism stemming from the drinking game created off of the TV show “Dinner for Five” and how many references to Swingers was made each episode. I’ll forgive, though, because, once again, I’m a big fan.

One can’t forget that this is an action film above all else, so we can’t just praise the actors; every effect is also quite brilliant. Those scenes of Iron Man flying amongst fighter jets in the trailer seemed really lame, but when in context they deliver. The suit itself is amazing as well, through every mach stage right to the end. My main highlight, however, was with the computer systems that Stark utilizes. The multiple screens, instant holographic reproductions, and ability to actually interact with those 3D representations is stunning. We can create them in fantasy, but it’s just too bad we can’t yet in real life.

Now Iron Man is not a perfect film, nor even a perfect comic book adaptation. What it is, though, is a fun, comic actioner that should light up the box office. The final showdown is a bit of a whimper in comparison to the back story and machine creation; a crucial element is saved from destruction in the one contrived bit of screen writing, (not quite utilized in the way I thought, although still for the same means); and some moments seem a tad campy rather than witty, but otherwise this is some topnotch cinema that should definitely be seen on the big screen. I can’t wait to see how the story progresses in a couple years.

How can it possibly be thirty years already since Happy Days first premiered? That fact makes a guy feel very old, for I can’t imagine having grown up without Happy Days; fortunately, being able to watch these classic episodes brings back great memories that almost make me feel young again. As a little kid growing up in the 70s, Happy Days was – without question – the show. I was trying to be Fonzie – strutting around, giving thumbs up, and saying Heyyyy! all the time – even before I learned to read. The show remained a constant presence in my life throughout the 1980s, as well, as it was a staple of after-school programming (back before all the talk shows took over). The first season’s episodes were never really my favorite – mainly because a lot of changes were made at the start of the second season, Richie was a little wild that first year, Joanie was still a few years away from babehood, Fonzie was basically just a peripheral character, and – let’s face it – there was just way too much Potsie in these early shows. In the first season, Potsie was the second-most important character, although Howard and Marion came on strong in the last half of the season.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Happy Days – The Complete First Season! Click Here

Richie really wasn’t a clean-cut paragon of virtue in Season One. In the very first episode, he set out to go “All the Way” with a girl who had a “reputation.” Over the course of the next fifteen shows, he came home drunk (accompanied by a stripper) from a Marine’s bachelor party, got arrested after he snuck out of the house to attend a drag race, put himself through “The Deadly Dares” in order to join The Demons, used a fake ID to get into a strip club, lost his band mates’ money in a poker game, came close to leaving home with a bunch of beatniks, almost got a tattoo to impress a girl, and almost got himself into a rumble with The Dukes. Of course, he learned important lessons from all of his adventures – except the lesson that he should stop going along with all of Potsie’s hare-brained schemes and plans. There are some truly classic moments in these first 16 episodes, such as Fonzie selecting Richie (in drag) to dance at the sock hop, Richie’s first drunk in “Richie’s Cup Runneth Over” and Richie’s blind date with a really tall girl in “Because She’s There.”

The gang’s all here for the most part, but Ralph Malph is just a jokester you see at Arnold’s or parties/dances, and Fonzie is largely just the local king of cool. Both characters’ presence tends to increase as the season progresses, but the only real character development we see of Arthur Fonzarelli comes when Fonzie decides to go back to high school in “Fonzie Drops In.” Then, of course, there’s Chuck, the infamous oldest son of the Cunninghams who simply disappears after this first season. The question is not really why his character was purged from the show with such Stalinist diligence; instead, it’s why was he ever there to start with? He did nothing on the show except dribble a basketball.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Happy Days – The Complete First Season! Click Here

It’s interesting to see how the show became a little more serious as the first season drew to a close. While thoughts of making out with girls were never far from Richie’s mind, we witness a rather poignant example of growing up when Richie and Howard square off over the beatnik way of life, see the show take racism head-on in “The Best Man” when Howard has his black army buddy’s wedding at his house in spite of his neighbors’ protests, and take a moment to reflect on the dangers of the nascent Cold War and the A bomb back in the 1950s.

I hope this Happy Days Season One collection sells like hotcakes because I want all of the other seasons ASAP. I like the next few seasons better, but a lot of fans probably have a special love for these early episodes. If you’re a rabid Fonzie fan, don’t expect to see the Fonz you know and love in these first season shows, though – there are only glimpses of the central character he would become. Keep in mind, as well, that there are only 16 shows in this first season – Happy Days debuted on January 15, 1974. There are also no extras whatsoever included on these 3 DVDs, a fact which is quite disappointing. Frankly, that means this collection is overpriced. At least we have the episodes themselves, though – and that is a treasure in and of itself.

I am part of the camp who thinks the earliest seasons of Happy Days were the best. This first season aired in the first half of 1974, and The Fonz was a smaller character (he’s not even in the opening credits in season 1). However, these early single-camera episodes bring out the best of the series IMO.

If you compare these episodes to a season 4 episode for example, you can see vastly different tones for the series (it went live in season 3). The earlier episodes are a lot more authentic 50’s, while it became more and more a product of the 70’s and 80’s in the latter years.

When the show went live, we didn’t see as much outside action, as many of the funniest moments of the first season take place outside of Arnold’s.

I hope Paramount announces season two soon, I love the early (first 4) seasons of this show and will gladly add them to my library as soon as they come out.

$39.99 might seem insane for a show without extras, but these are the uncut (over 25 mins on average) episodes as they haven’t been seen since 1974, and as icing on the cake, it is very cool to see the old-school red Paramount tags that have long been replaced at the end. The only downfall is that some scenes have really dirty prints, but I am willing to overlook it. Happy Days does not look this great on tv.

A lot of folks have trouble with this film. They are turned off by the over-the-top violence, mayhem, and sex. What they don’t understand is that it is nothing more than a really well-made exploitation film. Remember those? Movies which had no higher agenda than providing plenty of fun, cheap thrills, like gratuitous sex and violence? Many of them were made in the late ’60s and throughout the ’70s? Like Women In Prison films? Blaxploitation? Car-racing movies? Slasher films? Russ Meyer movies? Anyone? Well, for those who DO remember, and who don’t need every flick they see to contain lofty statements about the nature of mankind and the universe, you will love this movie. The cast is great: I mean, come on, Harvey Keitel, Juliette Lewis, Fred Williamson… even Quentin, who can’t act, is utilized effectively. Clooney has a great role which no one seemed to appreciate, Hayek does a lewd dance with a snake which will make your shorts explode, and Cheech Marin is, as always, a laugh riot. This film is at fever pitch every step of the way and contains plenty of Rodriguez camera-acrobatics and clever Tarantino dialogue. Please understand, people, this film IS trash. Good, fun, doesn’t-take-itself-at-all-seriously trash! God love it!

Having trouble finding a good vampire flick that’s exciting and scary? Looking for something that doesn’t abide by regular horror genera rules? “From Dusk Till Dawn” may be the one to choose. With a sizzling screenplay by Quentin Tarantino and perfectly directed by Robert Rodriguez, this is a horror/thriller to remember.

The Gecko brothers are two extremely violent criminals who end up taking a family hostage. The family is forced to drive the notorious brothers to the end of the border. They end up making a pit stop at a Mexican bar, where the brothers are supposed to meet their contact. However, things get out of hand when it turns out that the place is contaminated with vampire strippers and truckers. You add all of those elements together and you get one hell of a ride that you’ll never forget.

I’m not the biggest fan of vampires, but I thought this was an EXCELLENT movie. It’s unpredictable and exhilarating. You have no idea where the movie will take you until it’s all said and done. This is not your ordinary vampire flick, and that’s what makes this movie so great. It’s a breath of fresh air and so much more.

The acting really makes the movie what it is. George Clooney gives a remarkable performance (this was before he was the big star that he is today). Quentin Tarantino does a great job of contributing dark and chaotic humor to the film with his role. Other major players include Harvey Keitel, Juliet Lewis, Cheech Marin and plenty more. The screenplay by Tarantino is great and never misses a beat. It’s packed with snappy dialogue that one would not expect to hear in a horror movie. Rodriguez does an exceptional job of directing as well.

I don’t have the fully loaded version of the movie, so I am stuck with the plain version for now. The picture quality looks pretty good, considering that it isn’t enhanced for widescreen TVs. The sound is really lacking, though. I had to keep fumbling around with the volume controls throughout the movie, as it kept going from being quiet to extremely loud. That might be reason enough to get the Collector’s Edition of the film. A theatrical trailer and teaser trailer are both included on the DVD, but those are the only extra features you’ll find on this DVD version.

“From Dusk Till Dawn” is a wildly entertaining flick that really stands out from the others. It has some extremely funny moments, as well as some very scary and exciting sequences. This movie pretty much has it all. If you’re looking for a horror/thriller movie that isn’t like the rest, give this one a try. This is definitely one of my favorites.

There was a time when Masterpiece Theatre truly showed masterpieces rather than sordid and foul detective series or more recent novels that are perhaps a notch above Harlequin Romances. One of the better series, I recall, told the story of the life, loves and political triumphs of Benjamin Disraeli; and I have often longed to see it again, knowing full well it went the way of many old films introduced by Alistaire Cooke in the good old days. Well lo and behold! Acorn Media has made Disraeli: Portrait of a Romantic available once more in a boxed set of four one-hour video tapes. Like most BBC historical recreations, this one-although produced on a modest budget, as one can tell from the absence of crowd scenes-is extremely accurate as to décor, dress, speech patterns, body language, and all those details that so add to our enjoyment and appreciation of the subject matter. Then again we have the grand British acting tradition in which even the smaller roles are played with individuality and an avoidance of stereotyping. Ian McShane is our Disraeli and viewers of `Lovejoy ” and “The Dick Francis Mysteries” just might recognize him. The historically accurate way in which the younger Disraeli overdressed himself as a defense against anti-Semitism is worth the price of the set alone, as are the looks he gets when he changes to almost Puritan black and enters Parliament as a new man. After what we just went through in our nation’s capital, it is refreshing to see the story of a truly talented man who acted for the good of his country and when he thought his Party wrong, told them so! Even when he decided that marriage with a rich widow considerably older than himself was the only way to pay his debts, he spent most of the rest of his life as the happiest of married men. The estimable Mary Anne is played wrinkles and all by Mary Peach, who perfectly portrays the sort of wife that such a man needs. And after seeing the dour Queen Victoria of Judi Dench in the recent film “Mrs. Brown,” it is a bit surprising to see the almost jolly Victoria of Rosemary Leach. Very human, very believable. Of course, a little boning up on what “Liberal,” “Conservative,” “Tory,” and so on meant back then would help a little toward better understanding the intricacies of the political situation-but this is exactly what I hinted at above. What better way to teach the history of any period than to feed it up in a thumping good story. For myself, I found the social posturing of the times as much fun as the history lesson. By the way, very little of both have changed, since those who do not read their history are bound to repeat its mistakes. As you watch you cannot help but see how important it was to oppose the party in power no matter what plan they had for the country. The important thing was to act for Your Party, which usually meant fighting the Other Party tooth and nail over everything. If this sounds familiar, you see my point. Most of all, this is the story of a man taking social prejudices in the only way that works: showing them that he is better than any of them. For example, when Baron Rothchild was elected to Parliament, he refused to take the oath on anything but the Old Testament. When Disraeli wanted to shame the House for their bigotry, he appealed to them as a Christian (he had converted long before that) and reminded them that Rothchild was of the same religion as Christ. In a later sequence, he asked his bitterest opponent to be Viceroy of India because Disraeli thought him the best man for the job. This is what we used to call integrity

The life of Disraeli draws you in and keeps you captured until the very last episode.

Lyrical Nanoha starts out looking like a typical Magical Girl present – the main character meets a talking animal that gives her a magic item, which she uses to fight off a monster attack, and she is given the task of collecting distinguished artifacts (Jewel Seeds) .

Buy,Download, Or Stream Lyrical Nanoha: Season Set! Click HereThe first disagreement one notices is that, atypical for the apparent genre, Nanoha throws herself at the task with enthusiasm, hard work, and responsible decisions. After Fate shows up in episode 4, the monster-of-the-week takes a relieve seat to character development and the conflict between the two girls. When another group shows up at the waste of episode 7… well, I won’t spoil anything further.

Lyrical Nanoha, despite being a prove where the main character is a third grade girl with magical powers, is more targeted to the seinen (young men) demographic than the shoujo (young girls) one. That’s not because of fanservice (there’s a typical transformation sequence, but that’s really it), but because of the more complex residence, the attention to detail given to the battles and the character development.

The product description for this anime doesn’t really do it justice. From the description, one might reflect this a typical “pick up all of the artifacts” mission typical of its genre. But the Jewel Seeds are not really the point of the region.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Lyrical Nanoha: Season Set! Click Here

As the titular character, Nanoha Takamachi, puts it herself at the initiate of the first episode, “Sometimes, a person’s emotions can touch and clash with someone else’s. And there’s people whose feelings can bond with another so perfectly, they can talk without saying a word. Well, this is a memoir about people like that and what happens when they eventually meet.”

For Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, the battles and the Jewel Seeds win a wait on seat to the characters and how they are affected by the events that assume residence. In its 13-episode hasten, the series manages to do what many shows fail to execute with far more airtime: it tells a yarn of people, a tale rich in character development, character interaction, and ultimately meaning. And amidst all of that, it mild retains its residence as a magical girl demonstrate, with flashy attack spells, a transformation sequence, and a third-grade girl with magical power.

Easily one of the most spellbinding and palatable anime series I’ve seen in a while, and if you like the magical girl style, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha shouldn’t be missed.

Depending on who you are, Terry McMillan’s 1992 fresh “Waiting to Exhale” is either a blessing or a dreaded curse. McMillan’s third unique about four African American women struggling to accomplish stability, identity, and normalcy in Phoenix was praised in some circles for giving contemporary Sunless women a much-needed speak. But in other circles, mostly male, “Waiting to Exhale” was ripped to shreds as a temperamental and ungrounded damnation of Shaded men as philanderers, deadbeats, and no-good-dooers. It also made McMillan the biggest literary target of criticsm since Alice Walker unleashed her modern “the Color Purple.” But whatever your buy on the book is, the film adaptation won’t likely change your stance, as it stays overall faithful to the book. Director Forest Whitaker does a helpful job bringing to life these characters: Savannah (Whitney Houston) is the buppie calm in search for Mr. Right; Bernadine (Angela Bassett) honest got dumped by her husband of 11 years for a white woman; Robin (Lela Rochon) is the ditzy bimbo mild trying to shake off her no-good ex, and Gloria (Loretta Devine) is the full-figured owner of a successful hair salon. The best performances, hands down, are Bassett and Devine, who perform the best impressions, and they succor hold the film lively at a favorable stir. The script, co-written by McMillan, is crisp with enough laughable one-liners and a tale compelling enough to withhold the viewer fervent. But there are flaws. Whitney Houston struggles in her role as Savannah; her performance is wooden and forced, and when paired against a seasoned pro like Bassett, she flat out crumbles. A more relaxed near to the material would have helped. Also, memo to Shaded filmmakers: fall the swishy satisfied hairdresser stereotype! It’s tired, done a million times before, and, frankly, is grossly out of touch with reality. That aside, it’s not often that a movie successfully adapts a modern as well as this one, and “Waiting to Exhale,” warts and all, merits a B in my school of cinema.

I have mixed feelings about this film. This is a vast film with a very strong performance by Angela Bassett. This is a very droll film also. The humor keeps it flowing. I do feel, however, that the chronicle focuses too powerful on these women “getting some” and that relationships overrule everything but work. The best share of the tale is Angela Bassett’s character. I also assume that the men in this film reveal wonderful performances. The focus of the film is also the friendship between these women.

I won’t even comment on the film Pecker, since the critics and other viewers have done a radiant thorough job of that, but I will comment on John Water’s running commentary, which is almost as well-behaved as the film itself. Even if you have already seen Pecker in a theatre, win the DVD to hear John’s commentary. He is so shiny and laughable and simply lovable, and he accepts everything and everyone with a wide-open heart. I stare every commentary that is included on DVDs, and without doubt, John Water’s is one of the best. After hearing this extraordinary commentary, you will admire the movie even more!

From Charm City comes another Waters charmer – another minor masterpiece!
From initiate to achieve Pecker is a delight and Waters infuses his script with enough loveable oddball characters to populate an entire city. Whether it’s Christina Ricci’s obsessive compulsive fracture of a laundress, the sugar addict Exiguous Chrissy, eternally hopeful Mom, sleaze loving Tina or best of all Memama, who’s room contains a shrine to the Virgin Mary – and a statute of the Virgin that shrieks “Fat of grace! Pudgy of Grace!” there is always someone to discover and appreciate.

Edward Furlong is all wide-eyed innocence – even when he’s secretly photographing bottomless lesbian lap dancers at the and male strippers at a contented bar with the unfortunately hilarious name of “The Fudge Palace.” Mammoth sister, Tina offers a rip-roaring salubrious time from Martha Plimpton, and Brendan Sexton III is a delight as Pecker’s betrayed best friend. Throw in Mary Kay Area (!), Patty Hearst, Mink Stole, Lili Taylor, Bess Armstrong – and others – and you’ve got an ensemble that’s having one helluva capable time on veil!
Buy,Download, Or Stream Pecker! Click Here

The jumping off point for Waters here is the snobbism and cultural elitism of Manhattan versus the purity and earnestness of Baltimore “Trade Capital of the World.” The Current York art scene is an easy target and often lampooned but Waters brings his acquire original sick twists and takes us along for a walk bulky of belly laughs, poor truths in perhaps his sweetest tribute to Baltimore yet.

There’s honest enough objectionable material to obtain the “typical American” unhappy – and I wouldn’t want it any other plan!
